INTERVIEW

What defines you as a competitor?

I would say explosive. I’ve never been the biggest, fastest or had the best stick skills, but I’ve found success in focusing my athletic ability on the field.  When those moments present themselves, I pounce on them.

How does your pocket help you be explosive?

I need a ton of hold, so I use a channeled mid pocket because it allows me to go full speed without having to worry about the ball staying in my stick. I can just be an athlete, and that gives me confidence to make the right play.

Why do you use the FIBER System?

Based on the way that I play FIBER is the perfect fit for me. Again it gives me the hold I need and is very light allowing

“ultimate control with a long stick.”

I also love the adaptable release of FIBER. I can make short accurate touches, and when I need to make cross-field passes, the mesh flexes and snags just a touch on the bottom shooter. It’s the best of both worlds.

Favorite thing to do besides lacrosse?

If you could tell youth defenseman one thing, what would it be?

Let’s be honest, we are defenseman. The other team isn’t just going to give us the ball, we need to take it. Your footwork is the single most important skill set as a defenseman, and without it you probably won’t get on the field. It’s simple; get a footwork ladder, throw it on the ground and start dancing!
